Yes, Secret Treasures Still Exist
Working in the fashion industry has its perks, and one of them is being able to travel around the world, uncovering new inspirations. Each city has a story to tell, and I’ve been carefully curating a list of my most beloved treasures.
Whether it's a tucked-away in a vintage boutique in Porto or a busy flea market in Berlin these are the places that remind me why second-hand shopping was always about more than just the purchase. It was about the story as the pieces grow with you.
Our founder Cheryl just dropped 7 of her secret spots for finding pre-loved gems. From vintage boutiques hidden in quiet laneways to weekend markets with one of a kind pieces, these inside tips won't disappoint.
Add them to your itinerary next time you’re in town. Perfect for a slow afternoon stroll or a spontaneous wardrobe refresh. Who knows what treasures you’ll walk away with
7 Places to Find Pre-Loved Treasures
(1) Le marché aux Puces de Paris Saint-Ouen - Paris
Closest Metro is Porte de Clignancourt
Don’t worry if you arrive here and you can only see fake LV bags - you’re in the right place. Keep walking through the back streets and you’ll discover endless aisles of expert resellers showcasing their collector items. A place to get lost, and discover. I love it for pre-loved Chanel jewellery and intricate vintage pieces.
(2) Coração Alecrim - Porto
Tv. de Cedofeita 28 4050-183, Porto, Portugal
I accidentally stumbled across this gorgeous boutique on a trip to Porto in 2021. Portuguese for ‘Rosemary Heart’, this is one of those stores that has been beautifully curated by hand. A mix of new and old, inspired by sustainable, fair trade, and handmade local products. I found the most gorgeous short sleeve tan blazer that I’ve been wearing almost every week since.
(3) Yummy Vintage - Berlin
Bürknerstraße 12, 12047 Berlin, Germany
Nestled in the heart of Neukölln, I’d frequent here after a coffee + morning bun at She Said bookstore. A great source of outfit inspo, loved their selection of jackets, boots and belts. They support local Berlin designers with small upcycled collections which have been a great source of inspo for me. I picked up an old Ralph Laurent shirt that was updated into a more feminine crop fit, the leftover fabric gave me a matching scrunchie. Love!
(4) Beyond Retro - London
92-100 Stoke Newington Rd, London N16 7XB
When I lived in London, this store was on the same block as my Dalston flat. On my WFH days, I’d browse here at lunch for some local inspo. It’s not your typical boutique store but more of a warehouse setup so be prepared to sift through plenty of racks as the options are endless.
(5) Navigli Antique Flea Market (Mercatone dell'Antiquariato) - Milan
I spent quite a bit of time in Milan on my buying trips, if I was lucky enough to be here during the last Sunday of the month I’d get up early and wander through the Navigli (AKA the oldest canal in Milan) for their monthly outdoor flea markets. The streets are filled with hundreds of stalls displaying vintage treats - fashion, homewares, art, records you name it. Parallel to the stalls are plenty of vintage stores with gorgeous pre-loved fashions carrying beautiful Italian and European designers at reasonable prices.
(6) Boxhagener Platz Flea Market - Berlin
Grünberger Str.75, Berlin
Flea markets are next level in Berlin. When I lived there in 2023, I would have a few on rotation. My favourite flea that always guaranteed some steals is the Sunday markets at Boxhagener Platz. There is a good mix of professional resellers and locals clearing out their wardrobes. Not only great for fashion but also amazing for furniture. Affordable prices and a local community vibe. I once found a vintage Saint Laurent cardigan for 20 euros. I still have buyers regret for not purchasing that gold jacket though…
(7) Camberwell Markets - Melbourne
Camberwell Junction Shopping Precinct Market Pl, Camberwell VIC 3124
Every trip to Melbourne always involved a trip to the Camberwell Markets. This is one of my favourite markets in Australia. It always feels vibrant and full of character. Plenty of people looking to resell pieces of their wardrobe that they no longer have use for, their trash my treasure. Because it's mostly locals, there are always great bargains to be discovered.
